A device type marketability analysis…

Once we receive your inventory listing of excess electronic components, our marketing staff immediately evaluates the current marketability of all line items exceeding $500.00 in your acquisition cost.

Serenity Electronics has contracts with the top four on-line electronic component services, as well as the leading European on-line service. Within a short period of time of receipt the following procedures are followed, completed and forwarded to you at no charge or obligation:

  • Each part number is entered into the Internet to ascertain its marketability potential.
  • A report is created based on our findings that lists the following:
    • The manufacturers part number and your part number and excess quantity.
    • The total number of distributors (Independent, Brokers and Franchised) listing the specific part number as a stock-keeping-unit (quantity on hand).
    • The aggregate quantity of all distributors offering the specific part number.
    • The total quantity that is stocked through franchise distribution.
    • The total number of days the device type has been offered.
    • When available, the current pricing be quoted in the marketplace.

Through our website at any time you can determine what has been classified as unmarketable product for a complete write-off. We also determine if there has been a confirmed significant decrease in the current pricing as compared with your standard cost of a device type. This allows you to write down inventories that have decreased in value.

Using a login and password allows the accounting department to evaluate each and every dollar held by Serenity at any given time.

NOTE:
Pertaining to the total number of days the device type has been offered: This represents the age of the listing. It should be understood that most on-line services promote distribution to submit a new inventory daily. They also list distribution in order of inventory age. The latest being listed first, therefore this may in fact be misleading in the respect that inventories are older then they would appear.

Example:  If a distributor has a device type listed for 90 days, and then resubmits a new inventory listing with no changes, it is now listed as one day old.
